LoungeOS is a point of sale and management system developed in Cameroon for restaurants, snack-bars, lounges, cabarets, fast-food outlets, braiseries and hotels. It runs on a Windows computer inside your business and connects your waiters’ phones over Wi-Fi. When the internet is down or the power grid is rationed, your service keeps going.

• Currency. XAF (FCFA) is the default currency in LoungeOS. Amounts are shown in FCFA on the POS, receipts and reports.
• VAT. Cameroon’s standard VAT is 19.25% (17.5% plus the 10% additional council tax). If your business is registered for VAT, configure a 19.25% tax rate and set it as the default for checkout. Businesses outside the VAT regime can switch tax calculation off. Check your situation with your accountant or the Direction Générale des Impôts.
• Mobile money. At checkout the cashier selects MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money and enters the reference from the confirmation SMS. At closing, compare the totals with your merchant wallet balances.
• Accounting. LoungeOS produces a P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statement. Your accountant can map the accounts to the SYSCOHADA chart for statutory filings.

Built for power cuts and internet outages

Outages are a fact of business life in Cameroon. Load shedding was announced for the northern regions in early 2026, and internet service often drops when the power goes. LoungeOS is designed so that this doesn’t matter during service:

1. The host computer and Wi-Fi router sit on a small inverter or UPS. A laptop host has its own battery.
2. Phones and tablets run on battery and connect to the router, not to the internet.
3. Orders reach the kitchen and bar, bills are paid and stock is updated, without any internet.

Frequently asked questions

Is LoungeOS available in French?

Yes. The LoungeOS interface is available in French and English. Our French-language site is at loungeos.app/fr/cameroun.

Can I pay with MTN MoMo or Orange Money?

Your customers can pay you by MTN MoMo or Orange Money, and LoungeOS records each payment with its reference. For your subscription, choose your plan at checkout on account.loungeos.app. Contact billing@loungeos.app if you need another payment method.

Do I need fibre internet to use LoungeOS?

No. LoungeOS runs on your local Wi-Fi network. You need an internet connection only to activate or renew your licence, and a mobile data connection is enough for that.

Can you install LoungeOS for me in Douala or Yaoundé?

Is LoungeOS suitable for a snack-bar or cabaret?
